about me -
I am a certified master coach, yogi, trainer, dancer, writer and founder of Ganapati Laughs.
In 2011, together with a friend, I started the first regular laughter class in Chiang Mai, and now, almost 5 years later, it continues to thrive. I facilitate regular two day laughter yoga leader trainings in Thailand and China.
Over the past 10 years or so, in South Africa, Thailand and India I attended trainings in hypnotherapy, kinesiology, reiki, metaphysics, ashtanga, hatha & laughter yoga, numerology, life coaching, contact improvisational dance and practical philosophy; all in pursuit of my drive to heal and free myself from my inner obstacles and emotions.
When I'm not coaching or laughing I am, - practicing Thai, running, hiking, reading biographies, jumping up and down to African music, cooking vegetables or baking bread (usually at high speed! :-)
“Coaching enables us to see beyond our
likes and dislikes, fads and fashions, habits and comforts, and head for the raw truth of
our being.” Fla
Joy and Inspiration coaching, is all about - finding inspiration to do the things that bring Joy in life, whether it be work or leisure. 'Inspiration' occurs in those moments when suddenly the doorway to something new and exciting is flung open and there is light and energy! Getting to this place, however, usually requires removing obstacles - these are usually internal - emotions :-) and limiting beliefs and past experiences :-) Ugh, don't we love these!
Once we have internal space there is Energy to build the things that bring Joy. And, if you've ever had the experience of creating a project or business, then you'll know already - there is the long way and the short way!
In a nutshell, coaching gives a birds eye view or higher perspective of either a situation or a project and strategies to be effective; doing things that truly matter and have an impact, instead of,
doing things to get them done.
In 2011 I experienced my first Laughter Yoga class from a visiting teacher in Chiang Mai, and I was completely awestruck at how light and liberated I felt after only one class. I was so inspired, in fact, that soon afterwards I travelled to Bangalore in India to study Laughter Yoga with Dr Madan Kataria, the founder and master of Laughter Yoga.
I continue to feel amazed by the immense power and transformative effect of laughter as a tool for personal change and liberation of self, as well as, how it instantly connects me to others. It is now my regular self-practice that assists me in living daily life with optimism.
